What a wonderful ending to our week! It started with a pleasant surprise on Saturday morning...something that hasn't happened in ages...Al let me sleep in!!!! Until 8:45!!!! And when I strolled into the kitchen, the boys were eating their homemade pancake breakfast and the coffee was made (need I say more?). I tell you, it doesn't take much to make this girl happy. We were going to head down to Methuen to put in a storm door for Mom, but the weather didn't cooperate and we ended up just staying home. Another thing that we rarely do. Al practiced his guitar, the boys were peaceful, I got some reading done. It was just a good day all around. We had a wonderful dinner and put the boys to bed early. Sunday was church then an afternoon with our small group family. We had not been to small group in several weeks due to us trying to get the house in order to put on the market, and it was truly wonderful to be back. We really missed everyone. I got an hour to myself at Barnes & Noble on Sunday night before Youth Group and I got two great books on field trip ideas for in and around Boston and for the state of Maine. I'm looking forward to pouring through those with my fellow homeschool Mama's to plan some 2010 trips!! :-)
Now, we're off and running with a regular school week. Today went well, considering it's a Monday. Tomorrow we're heading to Mimi and Dede's house (my Auntie and Uncle Peter who live at the beach). The boys are excited to see them, it's been a too long.
I've been reflecting a lot over the past few days of all the things I am thankful for. We are so incredibly blessed, and I need to put my thankfulness into words, perhaps in a journal entry of sorts. I think here may be the place to do that... Stay tuned...
sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! So glad!! Can't wait to see your field trip idea books, too. :-)
