Congratulations to...

At the beginning of January, Noah and Kadin did some artwork for a NH Philharmonic Orchestra Contest open to children in Kindergarten through 6th grade called "Drawn to the Music."  Drawn to the Music brings together poetry, music and art to allow children to get a taste of all three blended together.  The boys had to read a portion of a poem called "Knoxville - Summer of 1915" by James Agee, then listen to the poem set to music written by Samuel Barber, and finally choose a portion of the poem to illustrate using marker, paint, or another bright medium.   Noah chose the scene" Strawberry" and Kadin chose the scene "This Earth."  They could illustrate those items any way they wanted.  Winners of this contest were to receive a free ticket to the live NH Philharmonic performance of the Barber production of "Knoxville - Summer of 1915" at the Palace Theater in Manchester, NH on March 14th and their artwork will be shown on a "big screen" during the show to help tell the story as the performer sings.

Today we got an e-mail that both Noah and Kadin's art were chosen to be a part of the show!  And our wonderful friend Logan Boisvert also had his art chosen!  Over 500 submissions came in and they chose 104.  I am so, so proud of our boys and Logan for their willingness to learn new things and their creativity.  Way to go, boys!!

Here are the pictures Noah and Kadin submitted:
